Built with urlShort: m.brep.us
We all know that short URLs are important for sharing links on social sites like Twitter because of character limits, but did you ever think that they could be useful for sharing music? Services like blip.fm do this, but they require a separate account. So what if you just want to link your Twitter friends to a great MP3 track?
You turn to Brep.us Music of course. With Brep.us Music, you simply enter the full URL to a .mp3 file anywhere on the internet and you get a short URL like m.brep.us/2 to share with your friends. When they click the link, an embedded audio player starts the track right away, and they're also given the full URL of the original, so they can download it. Awesome right?
The creator of Brep.us Music is Tobie Booth, who has just recently joined the urlShort Project. This code (and some other really cool stuff) will be included in the release of urlShort 2.0.0 later this Fall.
urlShort is a free, open-source, and adaptable URL shortening script written with PHP & MySQL. For more visit mavrev.org/urlshort.
